Happy International Day of Women and Girls in Science!
We are very proud to support our students during their studies by offering flexible working and wanted to take the time to celebrate some of our very own, inspiring ladies in STEM.
Georgie and Amber are both smashing their degree so far and we can’t wait to see them achieve their goals over the coming years…
Georgie: Diagnostic Imaging Student at Lido Troon
When I first started my Diagnostic Imaging course, I thought I would only be dealing with broken bones, but with all the different imaging modalities I’m currently learning about, I now see that there are so many avenues I can take my career.
Once I graduate, I hope to get a job at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow as a band 5 Radiographer and, after a few years, I’ll hopefully be looking to specialise in either Paediatrics, Interventional or Forensics.
As Buzzworks have been so flexible with my shifts, I’ve been able to create a great work life balance. Lido allow me to work as much or a little as I like each week which fits in well with my ever-changing placement timetable.
Amber: Veterinary Science Student at Scotts Troon
Having loved being surrounded by animals from a very young age, I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in Veterinary Science and, after I graduate, I’m hoping to work abroad as an Animal Physiotherapist for racehorses.
Buzzworks have been very understanding of the demands of my course and as a result, I have managed to achieve a great balance between studying, working, and spending down time with my friends and family.
